A small collection of photos from some of the destinations I’ve visited 2006-2010. The photos below are from Germany, Portugal, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Turkey and the United States.

“Take care in the sun.” An old fisher man lives in the old part of Albufeira, Portugal. He is concerned about my fair Scandinavian skin everytime I go there, renting a part of his house in this beautiful city on the Algarve coast.

Náměstí Míru. Saint Ludmila Church, located at Náměstí Míru (Square of Peace) in Prague, Czech Republic. January 2010.

“Am Sande”. The town square in Hanseatic city of Lüneburg, september 2009. This was the view from the room I lived in six months.

Red candle. The apartment had a wonderful kitchen perfect for small gatherings with fine wine, homemade food and the company of good friends.

Berliner Dome. As long as I remember, I’ve appreciated the beauty of this cathedral. I first saw it when I studied German in Berlin spring 2007.

La Grand Place. The heart of Brussels, Belgium, march 2010.

Berleymont building. Home of the European commission. Brussels.

Office window. View from office building in Brussels, march 2010.

Cathédrale Saints-Michel-et-Gudule. This beautiful cathedral in Brussels reminds me of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.

Galata Bridge. Men fishing in Istanbul, july 2008.

The boat. Connecting the Asian side of Istanbul with the European side, Istanbul, Turkey. One of the many ways to travel between the continents.

Özgür. Leaving the pulse of the city behind, we travelled up the Bosporus to have fresh fish near the Black Sea.

Fairy-tale land. I travelled across Germany and Austria with my little brother in July/August 2008 – this was the view from Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria, southern Germany.

Die Berge und die Kirche. View from the car seat during the roadtrip.

Mountain sunset. View from the alp house we rented in Kaprun, Austria.

Chestnuts roasted on an open fire. Essex, London, december 2009.

Spooky Ben. The big bell in black and white. London, february 2010.

The cab. “Where to, miss?”

Shaky Ben. Ben just wouldn’t stand still for this shot.

Lost in London. Thank God for A – Z pocket guide.

Belgravia neighbourhood. Strolling in London’s “Embassy Land”.

Sore feet. Travelling North America on my own as an 18-year old in 2006. I started off in Washington D.C. with extremely sore feet. Has anyone met the Mall and the Smithsonian?

Mr. Squirrel. This little fella let me take his picture, Washington D.C.

CN Tower. Toronto, Canada, is a city I would love to return to.

The red truck. On the highway heading into Atlanta, Georgia, october 2006.

Hello, little. Lived the real deal on a cattle farm just outside Dallas, Texas, for four weeks, november 2006. Dressing in cowboy boots, driving an old pick-up truck and riding in a real Western saddle. During the night I could hear the farm dogs chase away the coyotes trying to attack the little calfs.

Brooklyn, Yo. Strolling along the East River in Manhattan, New York City.

Teresa’s Gourmet Café. This Polish coffee shop used to be located in the East village neighbourhood in Manhattan, NYC, at First Ave/6th street back in 2006. I had a delicious omelette there. Apparently, the venue is now closed.

Seagull. Travelling alone led to bonding with other living characters than human beings… The New York City skyline in the background, december 2006.
