About

Welcome to my personal site on my adventures in writingliving and moving! A true Gemini, I live for communication. My greatest interest are languages in all forms, travel, photography and music. My key words are experiencing, exploring and investigating.

This website features my life - covering the adventures of a young European, among other things. It will also function as a channel for my writing.

Born to Swedish parents on May 27th 1988 in Geldern, near Düsseldorf in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Returning to Sweden in 1995, we settled in the countryside 500 kilometres north of the capital Stockholm, in the heart of the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Site “The High Coast”, where the air is clear and the moose a frequent back yard visitor.

Being raised in two different countries has definitely helped me to develop an understanding for intercultural communication. I feel European rather than Swedish and travelling, writing and languages remain my greatest interests.

I have always liked being on the move – during three months in fall 2006 I explored the U.S. on my own as an 18-year, then studied and travelled Europe during spring and summer 2007 before starting my degree in Media and Communication with spezialization in public relations in fall 2007.

Between June and September 2009, I lived in Prishtina, the capital of the Republic of Kosovo. While exploring the beautiful Balkan region, I did a public relations internship within a NATO Advisory Team at the Ministry for the Kosovo Security Force, Kosovo Government.

In January 2010, I re-discovered my passion for journalism when attending the TOL Freelance Correspondence Course in Prague, an international reporting course. Under the guidance of experienced journalists from all over the world, I filed my own story, from scratch to final product, about a new Czech law on human trafficking prevention.

I was the only participant not having studied pure journalism or already being an active journalist. People jokingly referred to me as being “on the dark side”, which amused me. Who says, in the modern media world, one cannot end up in the grey zone between public relations and journalism?

Although I have a public relations education, I have always wanted to also be able to write as a journalist or columnist. My column at New Kosova Report is a way for me to express myself as a writer.

The last year at university, much because of the internship at NATO, my interest for international politics, developing countries and public policy broadened which is why I decided to add political science to my degree during the semester abroad in Germany before I returned to Kosovo in June 2010. I lived in Prishtina, Kosovo betwen June 2010 and May 2011, doing research for my bachelor thesis and writing as a freelance writer.

I returned to Växjö, Sweden in May 2011 and I am trying to find a job as a journalist or in the field of information and communication or in the business of travel and languages. I speak three languages fluently and I have the curiousness and the willingness to try new things or learn them from scratch. I am finishing off my education in June 2012 and looking for a part-time or full-time job.
