Frau Wiman, können Sie wirklich die deutsche Sprache beherrschen?!

Oh, happy day. Today I received the result from the Advanced German language exam I took in the end of March. I can now, with a DSH2 in my pocket, whenever I might want to, decide to take on master studies or take a job in Germany and not worry about a response like “Ms. Wiman, can you really command the German language?!”.

The DSH-Prüfung (Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang), is the most advanced language diploma a non-native German speaker can take. It tests the language skills required to be able to study at a German university and there are 3 passing levels – DSH3 for Ph.D or higher, DSH2 for master studies and DSH1 for bachelor studies.

I love how languages open doors to alternatives…
